Tuesday Night music club

Ralph's back from Tennessee - it was good to have him back! Pretty uneventful night last night, not a whole lot of interaction, although it was pretty busy. Cris Angel is in town for tonight's demolition of a hotel on Clearwater Beach, so I was hoping he'd stop in! But no such luck - some of his staff did stop by, though, but they didn't stay long. A gaggle of guys who work for Bud came by - there were like 25 guys who just stormed the place. I think they all heard Ralph was back and came by to tell him how much they missed him! All in all, a pretty good night, and by the end of our last set, we had them dancing and yelling out the well known, "ONE MORE!" scream. Too bad it took them that long to finally get drunk enough to like us! ;-)

Please be sure to check out the new video on
www.myspace.com/beachbillies
. I'm trying to upload it to this site, but I'm not computer savey yet so follow the boucing link and check it out if you have the time! Hope you all like it - the vocals are not as good as I would have liked cause the song was still very new when it was recorded that night, and since I'm hardly ever happy with how my vocals come out, I'm especially not happy when I sing the words wrong! What a dope. We're heading over to Nashville in a couple weeks and are hoping to record a couple of originals with Seans' friend Link. Link is a fantastic guitarist and we're looking forward to hearing his take on the song and possible guitar leads to fill it up a bit! Stay tuned!!

Punch drunk

So much fun

What a great night. We had such a good time last night...awesome crowd. Had a few friends come out, which was a wonderful thing! A new friend, John who drove all the way from Hyde Park, our regulary groupie , KC (who put together a fantastic DVD for us...THANK YOU, KC!!) and my friend from college, Kristen! Thank you guys for coming down to Kelly's to hang out! We got a couple requests for "Sunshine in Miami" so we got to play that one twice and had a lot of dancing going on. Some hip chicks from NJ and PA were in town havin a ball - tourists are just the best audience! All in all, a really fantastic time with a lot of positive feedback. Although, there was one incident I have to talk about, hopefully it could prevent a similar incident from happening in the future!! Some poor dude, sitting at the bar just watching Sean and me, seeming to have a good time, was cold cocked by this girl, who was totally inebriated. I'm assuming it was his girlfriend, but I can't be sure. And if she was, I hope she's not anymore! The poor guy was just sitting there, boppin his head to the music, smiling away, and all of a sudden, she slams him in the head - closed fist!! Then proceeds to follow him around to the point where his friend had to come in and keep them seperated. Poor guy was walking around holding his head for the rest of the night. So guy, if you're reading this...RUN! Break the cycle, man; that girl is dangerous!!
Thanks again to everyone who braves the late hour and makes it out to see us on Tuesdays - we appreciate all your support and it's always so much fun! and remember, keep your hands to yourself!

Our first original, "Sunrise in Miami" is uploaded!!! Please check it out on our myspace account!! www.myspace.com/beachbillies

Thanks! Hope you like it!

How Original!!

Ok, so early on in the night, we played our original song, "Sunrise in Miami". It seemed well recieved, Sean introduced it by saying, "Hey, here's a song I know a lot of you might not know who the artist is, so listen close and see if you can figure it out!!" We played it through and of course, no one knew; so he informed everyone that it was OUR song! They seemed impressed and the coolest thing was that we got TWO requests for it later on in the night. People were actually singing along by the 3d time through. It was really fantastic! Over all, some amazing energy, lots of really nice people, some regular friends like Amy, Jessica and KC. There was also a wierd stalker type guy, some out-of-towners with Pirate make up on and a few friends from my work. Excellent ratio of crazies vs fun folk...makes for a really excellent night. We should have the original posted up soon, because our good friend 4video (AKA KC) video taped us on Tuesday and promised to edit it out and load it up for us. We love you, KC!!
Special thanks to my friends from work who braved the LATE LATE night to come hang out with us. Trust me, it's not easy to hang out drinking in a smokey bar till 1:30am then get up for work at 8. But it's worth it, especially for nights like this one - what a great time!! Hope next time, YOU'RE there!! :-)

wierd....

Ok, wierd night Very strange energy last night at Kelly's. Songs came out ok, I'm pretty sure we sounded alright, but we had absolutely no one on the dance floor and absolutely no applause. It was like we may as well have been a jukebox!! My friend Kristen came out to see us for the last set, so that was really nice - it's amazing how something like that can shift the overall energy of the room. Sometimes you're just going through the motions when there isn't a lot of feedback - almost like it's a rehersal or something, but then when there's someone who is actually into what you're doing, there's so much more motivation behind the strumming and the notes. I guess what I'm saying is, I'm insecure and I NEED FEEDBACK! :-) Overall, it was a fun night as usual...hard to have a bad time when you're doing what you love. We closed the night out with our original, "Sunrise in Miami". I wanted to go over it a couple more times so I really wasn't ready, but Sean just started playing the background track, so I had to keep up! It came out ok but it needs a little tweeking before we record it and send it out there! Stay tuned!

You never know!!

Another Tuesday night at Kelly's...another great crowd. You wouldn't be able to tell from the amount of applause though...there WAS none. But we had some guys who were in touch with their inner child and had a blast driving the tip jar around so they were able to collect an amazing amount of tip money for us! Considering the amount of attention we were getting, we were shocked see that we had our highest tip night ever... it was a great surprise. Just goes to show you, ya can't judge a crowd by the feedback. All in all, it was a great night, but started out a little shakey. I got a request for a song out of order and sometimes that throws me off so I messed up a bit on that one. But Sean was very supportive and got me back on track so by the middle of the night, my confidence level was up and we had a really good time. My friend Scott came out for the last time, he's moving to Hawaii on Monday. He's this amazing guy who is full of compliments and is very good for my ego...needless to say, I'm very sad to see him go. Scott happens to be gay and for some reason, Sean thinks that I attract a gay following so he keeps calling me Cher! Well, we'll have to see if I can bring in another one once Scott leaves me...see if I can prove or disprove Sean's theory. : -) That's about it...Sean and I are still working on our originals, we have one almost ready to perform. It's called "Sunrise in Miami"...once it's recorded, I'll post the link. We'll most likely give it a shot at our next Tuesday gig....wish us luck!
