Good night!

We had a really great night this past Tuesday. I almost feel like I'm starting to repeat myself because it's always the same things that make it a great night. There was such a fantastic energy right from the second we walked in. We met a terrific chick named Alix from Vermont - she ran our tip jar around for us and did a REALLY great job. We met a couple folks from Alabama and Summer from Michigan. All of whom were so supportive and cheered loud and long. It was an awesome night, I could have played for another 2 hours, it was Awesome!!

DAAAAA Bears!

Ok, another groggy Wednesday...but last night was WELL worth it!! Shout out to the folks from Chicago....some of the out of towners who stopped by Kelly's and stayed with us till the end!! They were so much fun and very complimentary - even drove the tip jar around for us! We had a really good time last night, great group of drinkers (like the afore mentioned Cub fans) and a really nice group of "bug" people from a company called Pest Defense. They were in town for a conference or meeting of some sort and were staying at the Hilton. Clearwater Beach...Great place for a business trip, huh? We also had a couple regulars out and about, KC and Chuck and of course Ralph was tending bar! Speaking of Ralph, he bent over to pick something up and the poor guy SPLIT his pants right down the left pocket! Thank God he was wearing a lovely pair of grey underwear - at least I'm assuming they were grey and not just a really dingy white! He was at a loss as to what to do cause it was pretty busy - hard to take a break and try to sew it up. So Sean yelled out, "Got any duct tape?" ...worked like a charm! We also had a young lady in a very tiny pink dress who was dancing ALL NIGHT! She was QUITE a trip and those of you who were there can back me up, she had the most interesting way of dancing - most unique I think I've ever seen. But she was having a good time and that was all we can ask for...after all, that's why we're there!! We played a few new tunes, Promises by Eric Clapton (one of my all time favorite songs), It's My Life by Talk Talk (or No Doubt, depending on how old you are!) and Much too Young by Garth Brooks. We also changed up our song order to keep things interesting for the bartenders - I'm sure they get sick of hearing the same songs in the same order!! A few changes can really help keep things fresh I guess, cause overall it was one of the best nights so far. Hope to see YOU there next Tuesday!!

Love that dirty water!!!!

What a great night! Had some folks from Boston (hence the subject line) and some folks from Maine - Me, being from both, had a great time talking to them. We had to show some extra attention to the New Englander's....after all, the Sox lost to the Rays AND they're still in mourning over Tom Brady's left knee!! Chin up NE fans...Don't Stop Believing!! There was a whole lot of crowd interaction which really makes the night so much better. The "Brothers from Ocala & Clearwater - very vocally supportive!! We also had a lovely couple from Missouri hanging out, who were REALLY into the country music. They were so sweet...we did all our country stuff for them and they came out to dance when we did Kid Rock's new "summer" song. That was a great hit, even did it twice!! Also played our new original a couple times and kept everyone pretty engaged all night long. Even got some applause from Ralph, which is always super! Over all, a most awesome night. We even had the standard, "ONE MORE..." roar, to the point where Sean had already broken down and they asked me for an acoustic song...just me and my guitar!! That was a huge highlight for me and it was really wild standing there, me and my guitar, 7 or 9 people - all eyes on me. Bizarre, but I have to say, pretty cool! Thanks so much, to everyone who showed up and hung out with us - special shout out to PJ and John!! Great to see you guys!

NEW DEMO!!!!!

I am so excited!! We have finally updated our demo. Check out our myspace to hear the new songs. They sound so much better than the other recordings. I'm still not 100% happy, cause I mean, how good could they really sound, they were recorded in the garage!! But, they're a 100% improvement from the other songs. Once we get 8 originals, we'll have enough for a CD and then we'll hit the real studio! Man, now THAT'S gonna be fun!

Still fun Sober!!

Ok, second week in a row, I played WITHOUT BEER!!! And I found out, it's still fun. I bet I'll be back on the beer next week, though.
So here's what...we had a REALLY good crowd, Ralph and Ted were working the bar, Amy and Jarrel were there for the first set (Always nice to see them). There's a new guy there working the door named Ricardo who was doing a great job and we had a fun group of girls to start off the night. They were already dancing (and drinking) before we even got started, so I took that as a pretty good sign! The rest of the night followed suit - there was a really nice guy named Allen who contributed to our Sobriety foundation fund - AKA the tip jar and was very complimentary. Later on throughout the night, there were a lot of compliments and some really enthusiastic applause. One of the coolest things was that we met with 3 different people who asked to take our card to either where they work or a bar they frequent to try to get us in to those places. One was right on Clearwater Beach, one in Tampa and even one in Sarasota!! (I figured we could make a weekend getaway out of that one!) You know I have to take Sean out of the area in order to get him to sit still, so that might be a good one! Anyway, great night, although KC didn't make it for the first time in a while - he was missed, but we had a lot of fun. See you next week!

I'm BEHIND!

Hey, haven't been on top of this lately - no particular reason other than having a 4 day hangover. I went to see Drunky Brewster, Sean's other band, and someone must have fed me booze without me knowing it because I KNOW I didn't drink THAT much. But, wow...Saturday night was a blur, woke up Sunday only to stay in bed until 7pm that night. I'm on the wagon, ladies and gentlemen...yes, it's true. Anyhow, last Tuesday went well, but we left an hour early because it was pretty slow. Met a couple of really nice groups from Ohio. Nice married couple and then 4 sweet, very well behaved young men. All in all, it was a good night and I got home early enough to be less of a Wednesday mess. Looking forward to this coming Tuesday, I've been practicing a lot and it should be a lot of fun. We're still working on our new originals - we have 4 sets of lyrics all together, as you all know, #1, Sunrise in Miami, is complete, #2 titled, "Turn This Heartbreak Around" is almost complete and we have lyrics for "I'm Gone" and "The simple things in life". We're on our way to a full fledged Originals CD!! I'm so happy....

Hope you all like the new YouTube video - scroll down to view it if you haven't seen it yet. What a great time in Tennessee!! Hearing the accent alone is worth the trip! Boy y'all....them there country folk - they sure do talk funny! It really is such a beautiful and fun place to visit. And we had 5 whole days with NO RAIN or HUMIDITY!! Trust me, coming from the Florida summer, that was a real treat!

It’s good to be home

It's nice to go on vacation, but it's always good to come home. We landed back in town on Monday, got to recoup a bit and then were ready to hit the bar on Tuesday night. Had a fantastic time - excellent crowd, loads of feedback and dancing all night. I didn't get a chance to write last week because we flew out early Wednesday morning, but last week was equally successfull. I am just loving this more and more every week. We were able to jam a bit with Sean's friend, Link while we were in Tennessee, and as you may have noticed, we rerecorded Sunshine in Miami. If you listen to it again, you'll hear that there's now a lead guitar part!! Thanks, Link!!

[check out his myspace as well:]

He is a fantastic musician and all around very cool guy...absolute riot!! He took us around Nashville, got to check out the local bands on Broadway - there's a LOT of talent in that town - what an amazing place.

We were glad to see KC out again this past Tuesday; it's always great when he comes out and of course some new faces as well - lots of dancing and quite a few compliments by the end of the night. All in all, couldn't have gone better. Hope to see you there next Tuesday!!

Tuesday Night music club

Ralph's back from Tennessee - it was good to have him back! Pretty uneventful night last night, not a whole lot of interaction, although it was pretty busy. Cris Angel is in town for tonight's demolition of a hotel on Clearwater Beach, so I was hoping he'd stop in! But no such luck - some of his staff did stop by, though, but they didn't stay long. A gaggle of guys who work for Bud came by - there were like 25 guys who just stormed the place. I think they all heard Ralph was back and came by to tell him how much they missed him! All in all, a pretty good night, and by the end of our last set, we had them dancing and yelling out the well known, "ONE MORE!" scream. Too bad it took them that long to finally get drunk enough to like us! ;-)
